I just got back from Dublin, for St. Patty's Day, and while I don't have any pictures yet, I have to tell you I read the funniest thing when I was there.
I went to Dublinia, which is a museum of the midieval and viking heritage of Dublin. They had a whole room dedicated to the "Fair" which went on for many years outside the city gates. It had some neat stuff about meat pies and spices and cures for illness' and even brass rubbings - which were originally done to copy documents that everyone wanted to have - blessings and that sort of thing - but the BEST part was the end where they had an item about the decline and end of these fairs. It seems that as the other crafts were taken over by merchants who had shops in the cities the fairs became more for horse trading. And in the end they were shut down due to drunkeness and debauchery!
Made me giggle a little so I had to share.

Hiya my traveling friend! Just wanted to say that I had a really great time exploring Dublin with you, and we couldn't have chosen a greater group of folks to go with on our first off-continent tour.
DeniceWith you and your Guiness, and me and my Cider...Cheers to Dublin!
